About xWave
xWave is on a mission to transform the diagnostic journey through intelligent clinical decision support. Our platform helps healthcare professionals make faster, more accurate decisions, improving patient outcomes, streamlining workflows and supporting value-based care.
We work across the National Health Service (NHS) and other global Health Systems, payers, and private providers, supporting regional and national efforts to enhance diagnostic governance, reduce unnecessary diagnostic testing, and accelerate time-to-diagnosis.
We provide our Order Communications solution, Refer, alongside our clinical decision support product, xWave CDS, to support the full referral and diagnostic journey. xWave CDS gives evidence-based guidance directly within everyday workflows in both primary and secondary care.
Our product suite is built specifically for diagnostic services such as radiology, pathology, cardiology, and more. These products connect easily with existing hospital systems, helping teams manage orders, share information, follow clinical guidelines, and improve overall efficiency.
Due to recent success and wins with the NHS, xWave is actively scaling across the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Europe, working with NHS trusts, national teams, and major imaging providers to deliver measurable improvements - such as better diagnostic governance, reduced unnecessary imaging, and faster time to diagnosis.
Overview
We’re looking for a Product Lead to take ownership of our AI product suite and drive its next phase of growth. These products sit at the core of our platform and are already live in clinical environments, supporting decision-making, referral optimisation, and workflow efficiency.
The underlying models have been through the MDR journey, so the focus now is less about building from scratch and more about scaling, refining, and embedding these capabilities into real-world clinical workflows. Alongside our existing UK deployments, we’re actively expanding across both the UK and EU, so this role will play a key part in shaping how the products evolve across different regulatory and clinical contexts.
This is a senior, hands-on role. You’ll be working closely with engineering, data science, and clinical teams, while also engaging directly with customers. You’ll need to be comfortable moving between strategy and detail, and making decisions in a regulated, real-world setting.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll own the roadmap across our AI products end to end. That means deciding what gets built, what gets prioritised, and how we balance new capability with delivering reliably at scale.
A big part of the role is shaping how AI is actually used in practice. That includes areas like mapping referrals to guidelines, determining appropriateness, triaging urgency, and selecting protocols. Some of this is model-driven, some of it is rules-based, and knowing where that line sits is important.
You’ll also be responsible for making sure everything we ship remains safe and compliant. That includes working with our clinical and regulatory teams to stay aligned with UK MDR requirements and EU MDR as we expand, and ensuring changes are controlled, traceable, and properly assessed across both regions.
On the delivery side, you’ll work closely with engineering and ML teams to break down the roadmap into things that can actually be shipped. You’ll need to make trade-offs—between model performance, usability, speed, and safety—and keep things moving without overcomplicating the product.
You’ll also own how we measure success. That includes things like how well the models align with clinical decisions, how accurate triage and protocol selection are, and whether we’re genuinely improving outcomes like referral quality or workflow efficiency. We already have strong audit and feedback loops in place, and you’ll be expected to build on those.
Finally, you’ll spend time with customers. That means understanding how things work on the ground in NHS trusts and private providers, turning real problems into product decisions, and supporting key deals where needed. This role isn’t just internal—you’ll be close to the market.
Experience
5–10+ years in product management, ideally in complex or technical products
Experience owning and delivering a multi-product or platform roadmap
Exposure to AI/ML-driven products, even if not hands-on technically
Experience working in healthcare or another regulated environment is a strong advantage
Familiarity with UK and/or EU regulatory environments (e.g. MDR) is helpful but not essential
Track record of shipping products into real-world, operational settings (not just pilots)
Competencies
Strong product judgement, knows how to prioritise and what not to build
Strong self starter and owner of responsibilities. You will be empowered to own the end to end
Comfortable working with engineering and ML teams, and navigating trade-offs
Able to operate across both strategy and execution without losing momentum
Pragmatic and delivery-focused, biased toward what works in production
Comfortable with ambiguity, particularly in AI-driven systems
Strong communication skills, able to work effectively with clinicians, engineers, and commercial teams
Willing to challenge assumptions and push for better outcomes where needed.
What success looks like
Success in this role is pretty clear. There’s a coherent roadmap across the AI products, and the team is delivering against it. Customers are using the products and trust the outputs. We’re seeing measurable improvements in areas like referral quality and efficiency. And we’re progressing steadily from assisted workflows toward more automated ones, without compromising safety or usability.
What We Offer
A mission-led team improving healthcare outcomes and efficiency
High-impact projects and exposure to cutting-edge health technology innovation
Clear path to grow with the company as we expand into international markets
Access to a collaborative and multidisciplinary team across clinical, technical, commercial, and operational domains
